CCS Welcomes, Mrs. Tamara Phay as our new Principal for the 2016-2017 School Year
I am so excited to join the CCS family. I know that God alone is the one who has brought me to this incredible school. Before coming here, I have taught 4th grade, 1st grade, Kindergarten and pre-school in California, Washington and Idaho! I received my B.A. and teaching credential for Cal State Fullerton, my Professional Certification from Gonzaga University and my Masters in Educational Leadership from the University of Idaho. From the time I was 5 years old I knew that all I wanted to do was become a teacher! There is nothing greater than coming alongside a child and helping them discover their potential. As administrator I am excited to work alongside the teachers and staff to continue the legacy of academic success and spiritual growth here at CCS!!
Outside of school, I love spending time with my husband Jared and our three kids; Carson (7), Makenzie (6) and Colton (4). As a family we love to fish, go to the lake, play sports and of course go to the CSI Men’s basketball games. I also enjoy reading, boating, water skiing, exercising and going for family walks.
God truly is amazing in all that he does and his ways are always bigger and better than my ways. He has brought me from state to state, school to school, job to job with a master plan in mind that is far greater than I could have ever expected. I have learned to trust in him fully and believe that wherever he leads me is right where I am meant to be. I am excited to see how God will encourage, challenge and strengthen me this year!
Some of my favorite verses are:
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28
“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” Hebrews 11:1
“He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you? But to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?” Micah 6:8
About Mrs. Jamie Shetler (Academic Coach)
Wow, I have had the awesome opportunity to be a part of the CCS family for the past 10 years as a parent, the Administrator for five years and currently as your Academic Coach. I am in awe at the amazing things that God continues to do at CCS. It has been such a privilege to watch our students grow academically and spiritually and to watch them thrive at all levels. It has been an honor to work with parents who are so dedicated to ensuring that their children grow in the Lord and who care so deeply about the academic success of their children. I watch daily as God continues to work in my life and I am so grateful that He is my Lord and Savior.
I have a Masters degree in Education and have been a part of the CCS Family for the last 10 years. Prior to serving at CCS, I was employed by the College of Southern Idaho as the Honors Program Director and as the Coordinator of New Student Services for 9 years. I was also employed by the Lincoln County Recreation District where I coordinated youth activities.
I continue to grow in my walk with the Lord and know that “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” My prayer is that I will continue to keep my eyes focused on the Lord! I have many favorite Bible verses and a few of them include:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3: 5-6
“ For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
“The Lord is my Shepherd. . . “ Psalm 23
I have been blessed with a beautiful family. I have been married to my awesome husband, Zach for 16 years and we have two children, Alex (13) and Madison (9) who bless us daily. I also have an amazing mom, Linda (Nan) and brother, Monty who are too special not to include. I love running, hiking, fly fishing, camping, exercising and watching my children participate in activities, especially basketball and gymnastics.
I am so blessed to be able to say that I have been a part of CCS for the last 25 years. I had the amazing opportunity to be hired by Caryl Burnham as one of the startup staff members at Canyonside Christian School. It has truly been an amazing journey. I was so blessed to be able to teach preschool for 18 wonderful years and be able to touch so many precious children’s lives. In return, I was able to learn so much by each child, as well as grow spiritually right along with them. This is my 7th year to be in the Office as the Office Manager and be able to get to know each family that comes into CCS. I truly have been able to witness what is means to truly trust in God and watch how the power of prayer has impacted the school. For with God, all things are made possible!
I have a wonderful husband who supports me daily and four beautiful children, who I love with all of my heart. I have an amazing son-in-law that has brought so much laughter to our family. I also have the most adorable Grandson who melts my heart on a daily basis.
My favorite Bible versie is: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3: 5-6.
“Always pray to have eyes that see the best in people, a heart that forgives the worst, a mind that forgets the bad and a soul that never loses faith in God.”
I have had the opportunity to work at CCS for the past seven years. I am currently the Coordinator of Fundraising and Special Events. Prior to this position, I taught K-3 for three years. It has been so fun to watch students excel and grow in so many ways. I have been actively involved in CCS for the past eight years, as a parent. I am married to my great husband, Brandon and we have two beautiful children, Dustin (11) and Lacie (8).
Our family serves the Lord and we are excited to see what He has in store for us. I have many favorite verses and love the poem “Foot Prints in the Sand,” as it reminds me that God is always carrying me, even during the most difficult of times. “The Lord replied, “The times when you have seen only one set of footprints is when I carried you.”
I also love camping, riding horses, gardening and traveling with my family.
